Amen on the BONK festival... I enjoyed that so much. As for bands, you should check out my friend Jeremy's: Salter Cane. They are an incredible alt.country band. And they've got some free MP3's up on their site I'm sure you'll like.

Ha!! Glad to surprise you, Aaron. This is Jenny Juristo Morrison, your humble host of After the Polka, formerly of WMNF FM Tampa FL and currently streaming on the internet at free103point9.org out of Rockland County, NY every Sun. at 3-5 pm (hows that for an earnest plug?). I stopped dj-ing in early 1996, as things took off at bit for my band Pee Shy, and then I moved to New York shortly thereafter. After close to a 10 year hiatus, I was convinced to start up the entity that is After the Polka on internet radio. Your composition fit right in to my valentine set and I'm glad to freak you out. This labor of love that I'm trying to do each week is also quite an echo of MY former self! Please pass along the message that I need original songs from all the musical geniuses you know — just e-mail me with any takers! (also, not to confuse, my show is preempted this Sun. Mar. 12 for free103's scope festival, but I return Mar. 19) (also, also, shut me up, but we sure need an annual Bonk Festival up here in Rockland Co.!)
