It's the winning entry in an editing contest to remix a movie trailer in a completely different genre. The editor in question uploaded it in stealth mode and sent the link to one or two close friends. Within 48 hours that secret link had circulated the globe and the video had been downloaded thousands of times.

But it is indeed a brilliant example of the power of editing. The contest rules stipulated that no visuals could be altered (no effects or clips from other films), only editing and audio. The Shining trailer actually uses a line from About Schmidt (Jack saying &quot;I'm your new foster father&quot;) and the fact that I can identify it just further proves what an anal retentive geek I am so I'll stop now before I embarass myself further.</description>
